In the fall of 1977, I found my first issue of Bicycling Magazine at my junior high school. High School library. I quickly checked every box on a freshly perforated "Send Me More Information" card. Once I mailed it in, the catalogs started rolling in—from Bike Warehouse, Skidlid, Bell, Bikecentennial, and Flick Stand. I was hooked. Inspired by Breaking Away, which I read before the movie was released in 1979, I had already been dreaming of racing in the Pyrenees and spent every spare moment overhauling any bike I could get my hands on.

After decades of tinkering in home-based shops, I opened a small storefront bicycle shop in February 2020 in a building my wife and I own in Prospect, Ohio. The shop has continued to grow, and we now offer repairs, parts, accessories, and new bicycles and eBikes.

Here is what I offer:

- Bicycle, eBike, and scooter repairs at a reasonable price - Over 40 years of experience repairing bikes
- Bike assembly for bikes purchased online (eBay, Amazon, Bikesdirect)
- A lot of bicycle-related conversation.  My shop is open five days a week.

Now that I have officially retired from my career in the insurance industry, I’m dedicating more time to the bike shop and the community it serves. My wife and I formerly owned MidOhio Insurance Solutions, and I was also a partner in Ohio Medicare Consultants—both independent insurance agencies serving the State of Ohio. While I’ve stepped away from that chapter, I’m excited for this new season focused on two wheels and the joy they bring.
